“Go for her,” Darcy replied. He might have to settle for the next beauty, Kitty Bennet, but she didn’t look intelligent. It could be quite a bore to spend a whole week with her. If it weren’t for his sister Georgiana, he wouldn’t have entered this year’s competition. She had urged him to get married, to find the right partner who could make his life more balanced. Now he regretted entering it. They had been to over twenty sponsored planets, but no woman seemed to be able to stir his urges. In fact, he wasn’t too sure if he just had one urge, or if he had more, as he had had his electronic halo fitted very young because of his exceptionally high level of hormone. That was why he had asked Uncle Matlock not to talk about his urges to partners.
Twenty-four minutes later, Spaceship Derbyshire docked at Longbourn. This time, Mrs. Bennet had all of her five daughters in the receiving line. Darcy felt the eyes of Lizzy Bennet on him the minute he walked down the plank. Her eyes sparkled with fire. Her mouth held in a thin line and she folded her arms across her chest, giving him a death glare.
What did I do to earn such a reception? Darcy thought. But his eyes were pulled to her chest. He could see that she had the nicest pair of breasts he had seen so far. Suddenly he could feel the urge to drink her essence attacking him. He raised his hand to touch the halo. It was comforting to know that it was firmly in place, or he might tear open the green body suit of this Lizzy and start suckling her nipples in front of everyone.
“Welcome to Longbourn, Commander Matlock,” Mrs. Bennet said cheerfully. “You have met all my girls, except Elizabeth.”
Elizabeth gave the men a nod. Her eyes still fixed on Darcy.
“Let’s go in and have some tea.” Mrs. Bennet said.
The visitors agreed. When Darcy turned to follow his uncle, Richard pulled him aside. “I want to partner with this Elizabeth. She looks hot.”
“Sorry, Richard. I get to choose first, and she stirs my urges,” Darcy said honestly. After meeting her, there was no way he could settle for any of her sisters.
“Bloody! I’m always left with the less attractive ones.”
“Fifteen less attractive ones comparing to my only one?”
“True, there have been some great beauties in the past years, but I just didn’t want to tie myself to any of them yet.” Richard clapped his cousin’s shoulders. “Okay, let’s go and get the competition going. I’ll partner with Kitty. We may beat Kent this time, with lacklustre competitors Collins, Anne and Wickham on their team.”
During tea, Richard sat next to Elizabeth and chatted with her. They laughed and debated animatedly. Darcy sat at the other end of the room, observing them with curious interest.
Once the tea was over, Matlock got down to business. “Darcy, as a first timer will start the choosing.”
Darcy stood up and bowed to Mrs. Bennet. “I’ll partner with Miss Elizabeth Bennet.”
The women were surprised, especially Lizzy herself. “I thought you said I was perhaps too plain to incite your interest?” she blurted out.
The men looked at each other. “Oh, I didn’t shut down the communication properly?” Richard asked.
“Yes, we heard both Mr. Bingley and you wanted to partner with Jane,” Lydia said to Colonel Fitzwilliam, with a pout.
Darcy understood why Elizabeth was glaring at him all this time. Her fiery response to his speculation sparked his urges further. He walked purposefully toward her and gave her a bow, before picking her up and throwing her over his shoulder. “Uncle, I will go to Austen Arena now.” He then touched the s-watch on his wrist and had Elizabeth and himself beamed to the underground competition area.
“Put me down!” Elizabeth beat his back with her hands. “There’s no need for such caveman tactics. I can walk!”
Darcy felt the urge increasing in exponential intensity. He looked at the various doors in the underground passage and selected Eden Garden quickly. Once he pushed the door shut, he put Elizabeth down. They were scanned, and electronic monitors were tagged onto their ankles.
“I’m sorry about the speculation you overheard,” Darcy apologised. “May I take off my halo now?”
“You didn’t even bother to speak one word with me just now, and you want to get right into the competition. Are you desperate for the prize money?” She gave him another glare before walking inside Eden and sitting on a bench there, among a field of wild lavender.
Darcy took in a deep breath to calm his urges. He walked near her and explained. “You stirred my urges. I didn’t dare to come too near you just now, in case I started worshiping you right in front of everyone.”
She looked at him with bright eyes. Her head was craned to a side, assessing him. “What are your urges?”
