  1. It is getting better and better. Again it has a lot of great ingredients: Love, sex, l,ust, intrigue, comedy, wickedness...and Mr. Darcy..how can you go wrong. It appears Mr. Bennet is applying some of his learned lessongs to himself as well and extending them to Darcy.
Well Enid you have set the stage, the players and many delicious and naughty possibilities, and the chance for commeupances galore. Is Mr. Collins still staying at Netherfield, and will try to squeeze a possibly dried up and bitter orange? And what happened to the dirty laundry?
So many possibilities cannot wait..btw I hope this will turn into a published tittle... glorip

  2. No sex yet, Glori. At least not real one, LOL. Well you will learn about Caro and Collins soon. Thanks for commenting.

  3. F&C - Please tell me that Caroline ran away...maybe with a band of gypsies (she dresses like one)! Or maybe she compromised Collins!

Of course, since the Colonel was heading to the encampment, something could have happened there...
Oh so many possibilities...post again soon!

    Big Hugs coming your way!!

  4. Sandy, I'm still thinking about Wickham...

    ReplyDelete
  5. I like the update very much, and look forward for more.
I wonder what Bingley is agitated about, have Caroline really compromised Collins, or has Lady Susan and Caroline had a cat fight and both parties are injured badly?

Will Darcy gets his wish and marry before Christmas, and I wonder where Lady S got the idea about this suppose letter from?

Will you write about the London season too? What else have you got in store for Wickham, although I like to get rid of him, but where's the fun in that?

I'm still waiting for F&F, after all, I voted for spinster, I meant Retsnips, didn't I?

may your muse be better place than mine :D

  6. Oh oh! I am still laughing, that was just delicious. It deserves a caricature. Carolyn dominatrix Maximus. Poor Collins, he probably thought she was an incubus dressed in orange garb....Imagine CB as a parson's wife. This is just too funny and unpredictable, the muse is whispering a lot of naughtiness.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Dominatrix Maximus? LOL, I like Caroline's new title. I hope one day this story can be turned into a magna...Thanks Glori for commenting. My aim is to bring surprise.

    ReplyDelete
  8. ahahahahahahhahah that was super hilarious, Enid. What would I not give to see Caroline on top of a tied up Collins. Poor Mr. Collins! Maybe Caro can whip Lady C to shape as well!!! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  9. Now miaka, you've given me some ideas. I don't think it's been done before, LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  10. LOL, you had Caroline whip Mr Collins? You love whipping :P

Love the update Enid, and looking forward to Lady C blowing up.

    ReplyDelete
  11. No true! I only like to write about whipping, LOL. Just updated, no Lady C yet. Darcy still needs to explain to the party in Longbourn.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Sniff...Poor Bingley, after laughing so hard, I had to feel sorry for him...Caroline licking Collins buttocks? Yikes...shivers..LOL..btw was Orangina still drunk? or has she lost her common sense? Hmm. maybe Collins figures out he liked it..maybe she has "ruined" him for any tame female..

    ReplyDelete
  13. I've never been that drunk before. Can someone still behave tipsy and strange after a night of drinking? Well, I just made it up anyway, hehe.

    ReplyDelete
  14. To drink enough alcohol for the tipsiness to last till the next morning, would require a person to black out first, so no, it not possible. I think Bingley had to drunk Caroline during the day, prior to the carriage journey, otherwise she might protest, etc.

Poor Darcy, got pinched by Orangina, poor (I never thought I'll say this) Collins, got licked by Caro Bingley. I hope that Richard will do a find job and have Lady C convince Collins to marry Caroline

Bingley will be back soon, and very nice of Lady S to want to host Lydia and Mary in London

may we see more balls? Although, I'm still waiting for F&F :D

    ReplyDelete
  15. LOL, thank for the "professional" advice about drunkness. There are two more twists before we can have more romance. F&F, Don't remind me please...

    ReplyDelete
  16. F&C - Can't we arrange a FOSA for Wickham (Falling On Sword Accident)! Something really unexpected, for him, that is! Die by his own hands so no one else has to soil theirs! Gaaaah! That man is evil!

I loved Darcy whispering "I love you, Lizzy" just before he fell asleep! Awwwwww!

Now...what will finally happen to "Bloody Caroline?" Can we hope that Lady Catherine tears her apart?!! Poor Richard...to try and be the mediator for this bunch!

    More please Enid!
    Hugs

  17. Grrrrr The perennial evil doer: Wickedy! He is everyhing a jerk can be and then some. Maybe he is the archtype of looser we all manage to allow into our hearts, thus we all find so easy to hate ..And thanks for the Tender Moment....
À Big hug to you and your muse

    ReplyDelete
  18. He's not the murdering type, but still evil? Well Wickham will make another appearance, but not soon.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Just updated, thanks cupcake! What sort of topping are you? Hehe.

    ReplyDelete
  20. F&C - *Whew* *fan...fan...fan...*

Hot and steamy...get these 2 married quick! Wow! You know how to turn up the heat.

And what of Wickham...something needs to be done with him. Maybe a FHA (fatal horse accident) like a conveniently placed lower limb about neck high!!! (does that sound bloodthirsty! *smile*)

More please Enid....a lot more! I love this story!
    Hugs,
    Sandy

    ReplyDelete
  21. F&C - Sure...Lady Catherine is so refined she didn't even bother to thank Mr Bennet for saving her sister and her nephew's life! What a joke she is to think she is such a great Lady! It will be interesting to see what his uncle has to say on the matter.

Of course Darcy has his documentation from the will.

I love how Lizzy had to feed Darcy. And...they will be married next week? Did I hear right! It will be interesting to see what his uncle has to say...I hope he puts his sister in her place!

    More please!

    Hugs,
    Sandy

    ReplyDelete
  22. Oh my!

Pillows indeed! What if Mr. Bennet sees it? If it's in Lizzy's room that would *definitely* seem like compromise whether it was true or not!

Silly girl! Marry the handsome man already so you can move on the 'married' experience!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Sandy, how remiss of me! I thought I have replied to your comments. First big hugs to you and Michchick. Wickham is having a good time, at the moment, in London, I think. Lady C is going there too to talk to her brother.

Yes, I wonder why Lizzy gives Darcy her "own" pillow to use and now keep the stained one. She's acting suspiciously lovesick too. Let see what she has to say in the morning.

    ReplyDelete
  24. What can I say? Enid's muse is ever so sneaky and clever. I have been unable to read for the last days and found such a treat waiting for me. So Lizzie found the pillow, and hmmmm it had her initials? I think she wanted to lay her head in the same pillow imprinte with his scent. Will she ever!. .LOL. You know what they say: Don't wish for something because you might get it! And in her case, she soooo got it. :) I do like when FD is all embarrassed, and Lizzie continues her interrogation assaults that usually leads to finding out way too much information. Opening herself to a "rakish" Darcy overcomed by temptation, lust and a little bit of a concussion. He was quick to blame Lizzie for his "misshaps" while dreaming by turning the tables on her and demanding a quick marriage, or to face the consequences i.e ruined bed linen, pillows etc. That is a new tactic to be sure
And who can say, maybe Caroline will get some kind of happy Ending? And why not, she is bad and naughty, but maybe Rev Collins has some “large hidden asset (s)” and could he have acquired a taste for the exotic, and maybe he will give Orangina, Dominatrix Maximums, a taste of her own pain medicine ?

Enid, after reading so many PP versions, I must say you are settling into a definite PP genre, perhaps it is a take on Regency's picaresque? Hmmm. It is erotic, sexy and most definitely so funny and outrageous (in a good way). It is a good day to start the day, with a laugh and with the fan in a higher setting? OOPs (Blush, Blush)

    ReplyDelete
  25. Thanks Gloria, your comments give me great encouragement. I'll soldier on. Next, time to go to London. But today is public holiday, so I'm lazying around.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Wow, a demented runaway! This DarLizzy take is way too original and entartining. It is difficult to surprise me, but you have managed it time after time. What a wild and lusty ride, so Indiana Jones's like. Let your muse guide you in spinning this fun yarn.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Enid, that chapter was too PG!! I was half expecting an HMS even a dream version from Darcy LOL, see how you corrupt my innocent mind LOL j/k. I actually love the post and I'm rubbing my hands together, anxious for what our couple will do when they are in London. Who cares about Miss Bingley? She could be in the Amazon for all I care, but in London there will be no Mr. B and no Mrs. Hill, so dare we hope for 'something' to happen there? o_O

    ReplyDelete
  28. Caroline demented, Glori? Actually she's not. Remember, she's dominatrix, hehe. Miaka, PG? Darcy had ruin two sets of linen from the Bennet household already. He'll have to have up soon!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I think this will make a lovely inscription:

"TO MY DARLING LIZZY, NOW AND FOREVER HEART OF MY HEART, AND SOUL OF MY SOUL.
    LOVE FITZIWILLAM

    ReplyDelete
  30. Wonderful inscription, Michelle. But it's a bracelet. It may be too long for it...

    ReplyDelete
  31. yep I know its long, but thanks for acknowledging it. And hey if you are going to wirte about the ball lady susan intend to give in Darcy and Lizzy's honor, can you give it an extra spice by having one of Darcy tonnish friend show an admiring interest in Lizzy in order words let us see if there is a jealous side to Darcy.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Oh you have no mercy for Darcy's nerves?

    ReplyDelete
  33. I hate Wickham but loved the steamy carriage ride afterwards! Bathing together--tell Darcy to hold that thought. It may be useful later! Good chapter, Enid!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Thanks Lucy. Darcy's thoughts can be very fast, hehe.

    ReplyDelete
  35. F&C - This blond headed man with a mustache and about Darcy's build....is this where Caroline has gone?

Can't wait for more Enid...I just love it when Caroline gets her just desserts!!! *rubs hands together with glee*

The only thing wrong with this little bit is that it's too little. Need more, please!

    Lots of Hugs Enid!!
    Sandy

    ReplyDelete
  36. What about: OUR LOVE HAS NO END since it is on a bracelet (round circle with no end)

I was thinking it might be good to somehow link the inscription to the beginning of the connection they share associated with the fire, such as: SAVIOR FROM THE FIRE, KEEPER OF MY HEART

Anywho, I really enjoyed the story and was definately not ready for it to end. I think Caroline and Wickham are somehow connected . . . they sure fit together well.

I really like the Lady Susan character, I think she would make a great leading lady in a story of her own. She would need a man who could ruffle her feathers and undo her polished demeaner because of the shear animal magnatism.

Hope to see more of the story soon. Thanks for sharing your talent with all of us.

    M

    ReplyDelete
  37. Thanks M for the suggestion. I'm back and just posted a short update. I'll reveal the inscription soon. Love every one's suggestion.

    ReplyDelete
  38. why not:
"in my destiny, my fiancée, my true love forever. Love my Venus which is in each of my dreams."

Otherwise, I really love this history, I dream to see Caroline and Wickham good on punished , something rather cruel but not too much. Anyway for Caroline is possible be a public shame but which would blot nevertheless nice Mr Bingley.

I just love your stories Enid. More please!!!

    R

    ReplyDelete
  39. for sentimentality, i would suggest the same inscription as was on the necklace. "forever as one" sounds very well.

or something to bind the story of the fire, along the lines of "a love forged(or strengthened) by fire" or "from the ashes, two lives, one heart."

    happy writing!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Thanks Rag and Kayenee, trying to update the story yesterday but spent the time on re-reading it and try to see if Darcy is too cheeky.

    ReplyDelete
  41. love your stories, Enid. I can't wait to read the next chapter. please don't keep us waiting long!

    Laura

    ReplyDelete
  42. Hey Enid... Thanks so much for another update. Love this story.

Lizzy should be able to enjoy her engagement and Jane should not have to worry about Lydia and her mouth...ship her off to a girls home somewhere that is very, very strict. Of course, I suppose that no one can be more strict than Lady Susan! LOL!

I check each day for more. Thank you so much for another great story and I can't wait to see what happens next.

    Hugs,
    Sandy

    ReplyDelete
  43. Thanks Laura and Sandy. Lydia is still Lydia, we may need to put her in isolation. Her behaviour goes from good to bad like a yo yo.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Oh my...Just who is Jeanne? If Miss Bingley is Nicolas...who....OMG! It can't be Anne... or can it? Or is it a character we haven't even met, yet?

Oh Enid...you really must post again soon! I can't wait for more! - Hugs

    ReplyDelete
  45. why did miss bingley feel the need for the disguise and as a boy at that, if she was nicholas?

and who is jeanne...? how would she know about the garnet cross? was she somehow involved in the fire then, or did someone she loved, a parent, have died in that fire?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Thanks Sandy and Kayenne for commenting. Miss Bingley is proving to be rather elusive. Let's hope Charles track him down soon or the Bingley name will be tarnished. Next will be meeting with Georgiana and the engagement ball. I just need to sit down to write more.

    ReplyDelete
  47. OMG! Miss Bingley really is a wicked, evil witch! And, hmmmm...Greek temple....thin woman...blonde hair....Akkkkk! Anne de Bourgh? Is it possible? I just keep thinking about the greek temple at Rosings!

Oh Good Grief! I can't imagine a worse team than Caroline Bingley, Anne de Bourgh, and...is Wickham in with them? Holy triple slimeballs Batman! Bitch, Witch, and Wickhead!!!

Give me some good thoughts soon, please!

Still lovin this story and no idea where we're going next!

    Big Hugs, Enid!
    Sandy

    ReplyDelete
  48. Thanks Sandy for your lovely comment. What a good description of the culprits, if they are in fact Caro, Anne and Wickhead. But my lips are sealed. Next Georgie and Lizzy meeting and then the engagement ball. Finally Darcy has the use of his fingers and leg!

    ReplyDelete
  49. love the way Georgiana was introduce into the story. Can't wait to see whats going to happen at the ball.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Oh, Mrs. Bennet will be back soon, let see how she fares...

    ReplyDelete
  51. I can't wait to see how Lady Susan handles Mrs Bennet...or...how much she might have changed! Wow, maybe she'll be the one to take charge of Lydia, Hmmmmm?

It will be very interesting to see how Darcy manages to get Elizabeth to wear her expensive gown. RuhRoh!!

And...just who would know enough about music to give it to Georgiana...I see a running theme here...Greek temple...music centered around Greek mythology....Oh My! Just who would know enough about music and Greek mythology to be able to use them in such a manner? I'm still opting for Anne or Caroline or both. After all, in the words of Lady Catherine:
"There are few people in England, I suppose, who have more true enjoyment of music than myself, or a better natural taste. If I had ever learnt, I should have been a great proficient. And so would Anne, if
her health had allowed her to apply."
LOL! Anne's health?! Is she kidding?!!!!

Love this story and can't wait to see what you have to tease us with next!

    Hugs
    -Sandy

    ReplyDelete
  52. Oh yes, Lydia and Mrs. Bennet come together. Will Darcy and Lady Susan be able to handle that? Yes, Anne could be very well versed in the music...Big hugs Sandy for commenting.

    ReplyDelete
  53. So what was the purpose of the hypnotic music?
Maybe we shall find out when Elizabeth and Georgie start to be closer. I have a feeling that Caroline and Wickham are at least partners in their endeavors.

    TEB

    ReplyDelete
  54. Did I make it like hypnotic? Oh oh. But you will learn more about the culprits soon.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Ok! Lizzy and her wanting to do everything herself is beginning to get on 'my' nerves! This is Lady Susan doing the talking Lizzy...so no one, except Caroline Bingley, will think you are marrying him for his money!

And, if you don't marry this poor man soon, he is going to injure himself...then where would you be? Hmmm?

I say, forget about Miss Bingley! Leave her to her own devices and get Darcy and Lizzy married. The quicker the better!

I'm still hoping for a big Lydia setdown, too! That little brat needs to learn a lesson or two about being a proper lady!

Anxious for more Enid. This is sooooo great! *hugs*

    ReplyDelete
  56. Oh yes! Darcy was not supposed to do that in the library. But his fingers and hands and body did not listen to me...

    ReplyDelete
  57. I think they had better get married before they find themselves in trouble. Something Lady Susan no doubt will be aware of before anybody else. Are you going to eventually going to find a partner for her, she seems more impertinent than Elizabeth ever was.
    TEB

    ReplyDelete
  58. Love it, love it, can't wait to see the dymanics between the familes when they all get together in one room. Please, do not turn Mrs Bennet into too much of a proper lady leave some of her gleeful excitment intact, so that she can gush about having a daughter so well married to such a great man with great carriages and pin money.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Oh My!!!
[My only one!” He wrapped his arms around her and held her tight.]
I just melted at this point! Yes, these two had better get married fast!

I can't wait to see how the families come together and I'm sure hoping that Darcy lets Bingley know he had better forget his sister...and concentrate on his future!

    More...more...more, please!

    *Smiles* and *Hugs*

    ReplyDelete
  60. Thanks TEB, Michelle and Sandy. Lady Susan is married, otherwise she won't have her own townhouse. Maybe I should mentioned it earlier. Her husband is away, somewhere. I think I can make him more useful, like bringing about the discovery of a certain lady. Have no fear for Mrs. Bennet, she will make a LOVELY entrance in the next chapter. Many thanks for commenting. I miss readers comments very much.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Omg Enid this is adorable. Darcy just can't help himself can he? Please update soon! I can't stop thinking about what happened to Caroline

    ReplyDelete
  62. Thanks for commenting, we will know more about Caro soon...

    ReplyDelete
  63. Enid...I do hope you were being sarcastic when you said Mrs Bennet would make a LOVELY entrance....what do they teach in that school? This woman is worse! She talks faster than ever, she lays a big one on Darcy, drags the poor man out of the room and makes Lizzy ride with the men.....Akkkkkkkkkkk! Turn her loose with Lydia and Darcy and Lizzy will go running stark raving mad!!

Where is the Darcy resolve and forcefulness? Come on Darcy...take back your woman! I'm sure he doesn't plan to allow Mrs Bennet to run his evening for him, much less his life! LOL!

And wait until Lady Susan sees her! Ohhh...this is gonna be good!

Now, about Bingley...does he love Jane or not? I'm beginning to think that Jane needs to just forget him and find someone who will be more interested in her than in his lying, thieving sister.

On to Darcy House and an interesting dinner, I'm sure!!
    Hugs - Sandy

    ReplyDelete
  64. Oh! my poor, poor nerves! Mrs Bennet is a gem no matter how she is protrayed. Darcy has to appericate a mothers prospective despite how forceful and brassy or unladylike she maybe if Mrs Bennet gets her way she will be doing him a huge favour.

He wants to be married soon so he should join forces with Mrs Bennet to bring Elizabeth to reason.

    Poor Bingely!

    ReplyDelete
  65. LOL, so should I or shouldn't I let Darcy ride the carriage without Lizzy?

    ReplyDelete
  66. let him ride without Lizzy, he need to spend sometime with his mother-in-law without Lizzy being there to act as a buffer.

    ReplyDelete
  67. By the time they arrive, Mrs Bennet will have everything arranged so that no one will be able to wipe the smile off Darcy's face....even after a carriage ride with Mrs B! LOL!

Poor boy...his ears may never be the same! LOL

I'm just worried about Mrs Bennet and Lydia getting together...Will anyone survive?

    Go Enid!!!

    ReplyDelete
  68. Ha! Mrs Bennet wants them to get married sooner. Elizabeth better jump on that while she can, after all she has been in several compromising positions already.

I agree w/Michelle, let Elizabeth ride w/her father.

I still think Mrs. Bennet has a long way to go. I too can't wait to see what Lady Susan thinks of her.
    TEB

    ReplyDelete
  69. mrs bennet sounded better, but is still like a whirlwind... lol but then, she had always been a lively woman.

good inscription! as sentimental as the one on the necklace.

    ReplyDelete
  70. LOL, Enid. Ithink you meant hedgerow not hedgehog. Well I'm not sure what to think about Mrs. Watson spending all that time w/Mrs. Darcy. I hope she is trustworthy. I do like how Kitty's outlook on everything is. Now on w/the meeting of Darcy's family.
    TEB

    ReplyDelete
  71. I like the fact that you are concentrating on Kitty and her drawing. I always love stories that have Kitty excelling in drawing. It kinda sets her apart. I'm not sure I still like the fact that she talks about herself and Lydia liking the officers? Mrs. Watson had better make sure that Mrs Bennet will talk to her girls about good and bad men and that not all officers are gentlemen.

As for Mrs Bennet, I guess the best we can hope for now is for her to arrive and be so awed that she won't be able to rattle on as she has been doing.

Just what do you have in mind for us when we get there. I can wait to see!

    Big warm Hugs, Enid!

    ReplyDelete
  72. Thanks Kayenne, TEB and Sandy. Next, they will be at the dinner. I'm thinking of skipping the ball and go straight to the wedding! Mr. Darcy is very impatient and he's talking to me about it all the time. Thanks TEB. My mind may be more brutal, that's why such a choice of word.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I'm sorry, I meant to say that I'm not sure what to think of Mrs. Watson spending time w/Mrs. Bennet. LOL- Darcy on the brain.
    TEB

    ReplyDelete
  74. no prob Enid, still love that Darcy got to ride with Lizzy and the fact that Kitty is able to open up in his present to talk about whats being going on in the school is great because it always seems that she is intimidated by him.

I always love Mrs Bennet and despite what critics may say about her she loves her daughters and just wants what all mothers want for their children. She maybe unconventional but she is the glue that holds her family together.

Have the wedding and instead of a wedding breakfast use the ball as a wedding celebration/come-out party to present the new Mrs Darcy to the ton.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Hey,
I love this story more and more even if when I read the arriving of the aunt of Darcy, grrrrrr Catherine she gives me desire to knock. Sorry small instant of violence. Finally I wait for continuation and maybe that they are going to throw lady Catherine out :)!! They go maybe catch miss Bingley as her forces in marriage or to become nun, why not ??!!

    ReplyDelete
  76. Michelle, I do like the original Mrs. Bennet, up to the point when she welcomed Lydia Wickham back to Longbourn. I think she should have refused Lydia back to her good book. But in this story, she's more the talkative and nervous type, rather than the scheming one.

Ragazza, I understand the temptation of bashing Lady C. I actually was going to write more of the scene but couldn't stop myself from wanting to do her some harm. How dare her to accuse our Lizzy! It will be interesting to see if Mr. Collins survive the fever.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Oh Enid, so sorry to hear you have been sick! But, wow...what a chapter you left for us!

So, Collins told that Elizabeth was the one who did all of this...what a horrible man of the cloth he is. I think the Bishop should hear about his lies and deceits.

And, 'lady' Catherine (I use the term loosely) what a horrible, horrible woman. I think it's about time she was thrown out and certainly not sitting down at the table with decent folks!

Oh my...what do you have in store next...maybe Collins won't survive...and can he take Catherine de Bourgh with him!!! LOL!

Get well, sweetie...look forward to hearing from you soon!

    Hugs,
    Sandy

    ReplyDelete
  78. First of all YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh my God this is good to see 'lady ' Catherine being thrown out and I love lady Matlock who "took out her handkerchief and stuffed it into Lady Catherine's mouth"
I offer that 'lady ' Catherine is sent in madman's home. She will be much less exasperating for our lovers :)
Finally Bingley gets engaged it was time.

Please don't stop Elizabeth by the magistrate. 'Lady' Catherine is old one mad owl, everybody must know it since long time and Collins is obsequious. If he lived he will follow those who one power I think or then him just stupid.

    ReplyDelete
  79. ROTFLMAO!! I just about lost it when Lady Matlock stuffed her handkerchief in lady Catherine's mouth! It's too much....it's too much!! LOL!!!

Now...what's going to happen to Collins in all of this? He's the one who lied to lady Catherine...or...is this all part of the scheme? Are the de Bourghs, Collins, Wickham and Caroline all working together?

This is getting curiousier and curiousier!
Maybe it's time for a quick wedding?!

I'm just hoping that a real magistrate (not the de Bourgh magistrate) comes to arrest both Collins and lady Catherine! There's a lot more going on here and I can't wait to find out what it all really is!

More, Enid....more!!! Love the story and sure hope you're feeling much better!

    Hugs,
    Sandy

    ReplyDelete
  80. Thanks Ragazza and Sandy, I couldn't stop Lady Catherine's yelling and I didn't want the men to slap her. So Lady Matlock came in very handy. Now, I'm seriously thinking of fast tracking the wedding, if I can find a way...

    ReplyDelete
  81. Lady Catherine is a w..i..t..c..h pure and simple. For a woman who pride herself on upkeeping family standings in society, she sure knows how to degrade her family. That woman is sexually furstrated she needs a man to throw her across his knees and give her a good smacking.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Lady C's mouth does need some washing.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Poor, poor Bingley. His sister is a tentive spy and a hooch aka slut! And poor Lizzy wondering if she is going to get arrested for someone ele's dirty deed. I hope that Darcy can just marry her quick before anything bad happens. PLEASE oh great writer!

    ReplyDelete
  84. Oh yes...I like the idea of them going ahead and getting married. That would solve at least one big problem.

Sorry Bingley, I'm hoping Caroline and her cohorts all hang...what evil, horrible people!

Now, as for Collins....perhaps a parish in the frozen tundra will cool his lying tongue!!!

I think I'm getting a little blood thirsty tonight...is it a full moon? LOL!

    More Enid! More!!!

    Lots of hugs!

    ReplyDelete
  85. Thanks Mommaittie and Sandy. Maybe I'm only teasing you. There may not be any spy, lying Collins or horrible magistrate...

    ReplyDelete
  86. Oh Enid!!! "You have no compassion for my poor nerves." LOL! :)

    ReplyDelete
  87. Hehe, I like your nerves, Sandy, they come up with a lot of brilliant story ideas.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Loving the story Enid, even if your Lady C is the most wicked-twisted. I agree w/Michelle, Lady C needs some serious smack-down!

  89. Thanks TEB, trying to solve some mysteries first, before I deal with Lady C. Let her be gagged for a while, hehe.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Oh yes! I like the idea of an indefinite gagged lady Catherine! LOL!

So...Nicolas really is Miss Bingley and now we find out that Mrs. Younge is involved....that means that Wickham isn't too far behind, either!

Now...I'm wondering...who's idea was it in the first place? Did Wickham find out and enlist Miss Bingey in his schemes or...did Miss Bingley do some snooping and find out about things and then enlist Wickham and Mrs. Younge?

Or...is there still another mastermind out there yet to come forth?.......Hmmmm?

Sounds like Kitty is enjoying her detective work...she spotted the male version of Caroline...now what?

Love the intrigue and the mystery...I think we're closing in on the bad guys...but just who all will 'they' turn out to be?

    More Enid, More!!!!!

    *hugs*

    ReplyDelete
  91. You shroud lady! Miss Bingley and Mrs Younge dressed like men! I bet Wickham put them up to it, maybe with the help of (uggh, hm)Lady C? I am glad Lady Matlock stuffed her mouth and gagged her speech! Til next post....

    ReplyDelete
  92. it's time miss Bingley's deeds caught up with her. She should have to pay for what she put mr Bingley through. Mr Bingley should publicly disowned her scandal or no scandal.

    ReplyDelete
  93. So now we discover that Miss Bingley is dressing as a man, oh how scandelous!!! Mrs. Young is an accomplice, no doubt Wickham's the master-mind. He would do anything to get at Darcy. He must have been the one w/the sketch of the necklace as he had access to it early on in his younger days.

I love that Elizabeth and Darcy are taken with each other so well.

Hope you are feeling better Enid. Get up and get out, some fresh air could be good for your constitution. I will be thinking of you today.

  94. Hi Sandy, Michelle, Mommakittie and TEB, still not feeling too well. So no update yet. I definitely need to follow Lizzy's example and walk more!

  95. Just rest and get well, Enid! We'll be ready when you are better!
    Big HUGS!

  96. Hey Enid, hope you feel better soon. Maybe you should get Lizzy to nurse you back to health. All the best for a speedy and lasting restore of strength.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Thanks Michelle. But can I ask for Mr. Darcy to play nurse instead? LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Oh Good Grief, Enid...if Darcy plays nurse, we'll never get you on your feet again!!! LOL!!

    Love and Hugs

  99. No wonder I'm good one day and feel crap another day.

  100. No Darcy for Enid!

BTW...Colin is now 50! Not bad for his age, I'd say!! OO LA LA!! :-)

  101. Loved the "letter", so much fun to read your stories. I check several times a day... I know so silly, but I cannot wait for another installment. Thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Holy Intrigues Batman! This mystery with Caroline just gets deeper and deeper! What a horrible, horrible person she is...and she had the audacity to complain about the Bennets! akkkkk!

I'm still trying to recover from that love letter...wow...sizzling! *turns on the BIG fan*

I know it's just about time for the ball...so...will Caroline show up as a man...will Mrs Younge...will Wickham...? Somehow, I get the feeling something big is going to happen at the ball!

    Can't wait for more Enid!

BTW, sure hope you're feeling much better now.
    Hugs - Sandy

    ReplyDelete
  103. Wow, that truly was a delicious love letter. I bet The Darce was in a state of ....
I hope they are not planning on kidnapping Elizabeth or Darce for that matter.
Oh, now I have to go write a love letter to my hubby and stick it in his lunch box. lol

    ReplyDelete
  104. Sandy, who do you want to appear at the ball? TEB, do you think the blond duo are strong enough to kidnap Darcy? Doris, thanks, nothing silly. If you like NBs, then it's ok to check the site more often as my NB itch can strike any time.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Well...you know me...I'd love for the ball to be wonderful, no Lydia because she finally gets told that until she can act like a lady, she won't be going anywhere in public...Mrs Bennet breaks her ankle and has to remain in bed...D&E dance the night away...all that mushy stuff!

BUT...wouldn't that be a rather boring ball...I imagine you are going to put a little action in it. I'm sure there is bound to be a party crasher or two, knowing you. You always manage to make it exciting. If anyone shows up who wasn't invited...I suspect it will turn into a 'brawl' instead of a 'ball'!!!!

Caroline can't still be harbouring thoughts of marrying Darcy now...afterall, he caught her redhanded trying to steal the necklace so he knows what she is...I'm just wondering what she thinks she will still get out of all of this.

This mystery is getting deeper and deeper...Georgiana and her dreams and the Greek connections... Caroline escaped in Kent...Collins either lying or Lady Catherine lying, or both...Daniel lying to Bingley and he has a connection through Bingley and Caroline's aunt...Jeanne and Nicolas (Mrs Younge and Caroline?), the Barrymore sisters connection to both Darcy's family and the connection to Caroline... I feel like you're giving us hints but I'm not connecting the dots, yet...and what about Anne and of course, Wickham...hmmmmmm!

Oh Enid, I love this story and I have read and re-read what you have written and am so anxious to see how all of this unfolds and who is actually teamed with who and why!

    More please and soon!
    Hugs-Sandy

    ReplyDelete
  106. Thanks Sandy, think about the ball is giving me a hard time. I original plan for a normal ball with a bit of mush but seeing that a lot of issues have to be cleared "pronto", I can't seem to decide what to do. I know the story behind Mrs. Younge very early on. But should I be lenient on all the baddies? Afterall, I'm a near Buddhist. I should practise and preach forgiveness.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Hi Enid,

I'm like Doris, I check your sight often to see if you have added to the story. I am such a Darcy junky . . . Loved the letter and I also am looking forward to a steamy and exciting ball. I hope Darcy loses a little more control with Elizabeth, though not too much yet. I wonder what would happen if Bingly were to come upon his sister trying to sneak into the ball in disguise (like as a footman). I would love to see Caroline having to explain herself to the key players in the story.

    Looking forward to more . . .

  108. Enid,

As far as blood and gore happening, not much fun for anyone...however, total humiliation for the likes of Caroline Bingley and having her shunned by the Ton she so much wanted to rule would be very, very fitting. Just devise a way for this to happen...the ball would be ideal to expose her to everyone.

Now, Wickham and Mrs Younge...as far as Wickham is concerned, I say send him to the gaol or have him transported...and Mrs Younge...well...she deserves to be transported too. Since they love their life of crime so much...transport them to some penal colony somewhere with no chance of ever returning to English soil. If they survive the voyage, maybe they might drive each other insane!!

Now...whoever else is involved...that depends on who they are.

Lady Catherine doesn't deserve any feelings of guilt or remorse from anyone...she's like Mrs Bennet in that she makes her own problems and trouble...and...if Anne is involved...expose her and then see how her mother deals with her daughter's downfall.

Of course... these are just suggestions to get you going...I know whatever you do will turn out exactly the way it should!!

Hugs Enid and I can't wait for more!!
    -Sandy

    ReplyDelete
  109. Thanks M and Sandy. Seem everyone want a "fun" ball. Not sure if I can carry it off yet. But Darcy is mishaving already and the ball hasn't even started.

    ReplyDelete
  110. LOL Enid! Darcy is always misbehaving in some form or another..."naghty boy"! I loved it when he totally forgot himself and started up the stairs with her in his arms! That was priceless!

So...Lady Catherine is worse than we thought! I'm so glad that Lord M was able to bring her under control...at least for now!

So far things are shaping up to be an interesting ball....I'm just wondering what you have in store for us next!

Bring it on...Now that Lydia is safely tucked away from the party, I'm ready even for Mrs Bennet! Maybe Mr B will get her to the dance floor? Hmmmm?! Is it possible?

Anyway, I can't wait to find out more about all of our missing mysterious characters. Will the ball still be a safe place to party....or...will Enid let loose "the hounds of hell"...er... Miss Bingley and accomplices! *grin*

I can't wait to read what else happens at the Ball! And find out more about Lady Catherine and her downfall!! I bet she didn't go quietly! LOL!

    Hugs,
    Sandy

  111. Thank you Enid for inviting me to what is shaping up to be a great ball. Can't wait for Darcy and Elizabeth first waltz hope it will be sizziling with passion but please don't let Darcy lose control on the dance floor.

I know it's hard for him to contain his passion for Elizabeth but he has to remember as ladies of the ton we have delicate sensibilities and our nerves cannot stand the excitement.

Hang in there Darce and see you guys at the ball.

    ReplyDelete
  112. This was a very satisfying chapter Enid.

I think if you don't put Caroline Bingley in a place she'll be stuck at (say married w/no freedom to roam, or in prison) she will always be a revengeful threat to Darce & Elizabeth.
Lady C should just become old and senile and the Wickster/Young duo should capsize in a shipwreck, never to be heard from again. My2cents.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Dear Sandy, Michelle and TEB, you're all invited to the ball. I've reserved a seat for you on the balcony on the second level, so you can see the dances clearly. And if Mr. Darcy forgets himself and takes Lizzy upstairs again for some private moments in one of the boxes, you'll be in for a treat. (You know Lady Susan's grand ballroom has two levels like a theatre with boxes) But I can't guarantee that he won't run off to the garden. Let's forget the baddies for the moment as I want to give D&E a good time first.

    ReplyDelete
  114. A Ball...I do so love a ball!

Yay...I've got my dancing slippers on and I'm ready for a magical night Enid!

    ReplyDelete
  115. Can't wait Enid, is there a chance i can sneak a dance with Darcy while you distract Elizabeth.

    ReplyDelete
  116. I've actually written a few hundred words of the ball scene but Darcy was just scowling at every dukes and lords dancing with Elizabeth and refusing to dance with other ladies! Hmm, have to find a way to make the ball more fun. Perhaps, Sandy and Michelle, you can make Darcy's frown go away.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Sorry Enid. Been busy with the grandkids but now I'd be more than happy to do what I can to bring a smile to Darcy!! *wink* LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  118. Akkkkkk!! Enid! ...There I was, reading along chuckling at the dark looks a jealous Darcy was giving all the men dancing with Lizzy...enjoying the wonderful conversation between Darcy and Lizzy and her assurances that he had no reason to be so jealous...and then that electric connection throughout the dance....I even enjoyed Mr Bennet telling Mrs Bennet that Kitty and Lydia will not be out until their studies are over....THEN...Akkkkkk!

I'm going to guess that someone (Caroline? Wickham?) attempted to get to Elizabeth and Lydia was the one caught? Oh Dear! This means that someone was able to get into the house. I would imagine that Lady Susan will be angry at this breach in security at her home and Darcy will be furious. I can already see and feel his anger.

Will Lydia survive? If not, that would delay the wedding for months of mourning. Will Darcy take Elizabeth to Darcy House to keep her protected? Will they marry immediately so he can keep her with him to help protect her? And...what of our murderous trio of Caroline, Wickham, and Mrs Younge? It's the noose or transportation for sure, now! Yikes!

Please don't keep us waiting long! I'm more anxious than ever to find out what's going to happen next!

Fabulous story and you just keep cranking it up!!!

    More...more...more!
*sending Hugs while I hide behind sofa*-Sandy

    ReplyDelete
  119. Well, I kindly thank you for the invite to the ball. However since it was Darcy's engagement ball I hardly think it was worth me going - as he is already taken.
But dear poor Lydia to be poisoned by by a cuprit that meant to poison Elizabeth. Quick, everybody button down the hatches and lets interview all the servants. Who got through the barricade?
How guilty Elizabeth will feel that her sister was poisoned on her account (even though it was not her fault whatsoever).
What will our dear Mr. Darcy do now?
I think he should quickly get married to Elizabeth, maybe even secretly. Then they should set a great trap and at least entangle one of the baddies.

HA-HA!!! I love the chapter Enid. Hope Lydia will survive to become a right and proper lady.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Sandy, you shouldn't hide behind the sofa. After the busy days with the grandchildren, you should rest on the sofa. TEB, you don't want to congratulate Mr. Darcy on his engagement? Tsk, tsk. Well, I'm not good at love declaration, so I move onto the poison with great enthusiasm.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Need a new pair of slippers mine is worn out after all that tappin in one corner wait for Darcy to get over his jealousy and ask me to dance.

OH Enid! You bless my heart by letting us see this jealous and venerable side of Darcy. The same way he burns with passion is the same way he burns with jealousy.

OMG! Lydia poison, who oh who can the curlpits be. I know she always likes to be the center of attention and since she wasn't allowed to attend the ball can she be pulling a fast one on them. Hope she lives because don't want her to put a damper on things.

Can't wait to see what comes next. Impatiently waiting.

    ReplyDelete
  122. After a hard day at work, it's great to read your uplifting comments, Michelle. Darcy is neglecting all the girls waiting in line. But Lizzy is one lucky gal. Lydia, my Lydia, what am I suppose to do with her? Hmmm, thinking still. I hope to work more on it after the big presentation tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Sure hope your presentation went well, Enid!

And now, I'm hoping that you're thinking 'real' hard about F&C. I can't wait to see what you have for us next!! I'm on the edge of my computer watching every day...sometimes 2 or 3 times a day!! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  124. I've written something. And I've put my writing goal of 500 words a day on a card with a photo of my favourite Mr. Darcy. Let's hope he can help me stick to the goal. Many thanks Sandy. You're my inspiration!

    ReplyDelete
  125. I'm sorry to hear of Lydia's poisoning, but glad it wasn't D&E. Maybe Lydia will learn a lesson from this, I believe she will provided she recovers.
Just like Elizabeth to be caring and want to stay with her sister.
I hope they catch the cuplrit. I would be very upset if I was Darcy and thought there was a person so close that could do such damage, unless of course the package was delivered. But I suppose they could try to trace the delivery.
Can't wait to see what's going to happen Enid.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Soooo...who's handwriting is it. Darcy would be familiar with his aunt's, Mrs Younge's, Anne's and Wickham's; and Bingley would know about Caroline's. Hmmmmmm?

Now...who would want Elizabeth dead? Wickham wouldn't want Darcy dead since then he would have no chance to blackmail him and get money. Caroline would want Elizabeth dead but not Darcy. Mrs. Younge would be with the leader of this little group of degenerates!

Hmmmm...either or both of the de Bourgh women would want Elizabeth dead. That way Darcy would never be able to marry her. But...what would either of them gain by killing Darcy, unless it would be hoping to gain control of Georgiana! But Richard would never allow that to happen. And...who would know the house and servants well enough to get in and open a gift and add the poison?

Of course, I'm wondering if there is some connection with the macroons being dipped in 'orange'? And, this statement in the letter
The flame of life is short. Enjoy it while the heat is still hot.
This is definitely a nod to the fact that his father made the promise after the fire when Elizabeth was just a baby. Whoever did this is very much aware of the promises made and now that Elizabeth has been found, they want to get rid of her for good.

Enid...there is still a big mystery and lots of questions. And I'm anxious to see how you unravel it all for us!

Please post again soon! Let the investigation begin...and, should she live, Lydia just might be a little wiser!

    Hugs from West Virginia, USA!

  127. Hey Enid,

Great writing, love the mystery aspect but I have a few questions. Did lady susan hire outside help for the ball? If so I think they should starting questioning the new footman or the maid one of them is connected with the "burnt orange posse".

Even though Caroline and Wickham are devious they do not have the killer instinct and as Sandy said Darcy is worth more alive than dead to them. I think they are all working for some body with much more pull than lady Catherine.

WHAT DO WE REALLY KNOW ABOUT LADY SUSAN'S HUSBAND, WHERE IS HE AND WHY HAS HE BEEN AWAY SO LONG?

Oh what tangle web love weaves!

    ReplyDelete
  128. Sandy and Michelle, great, I think you are on the right track. More will be revealed about the servants and Caro in the next chapter.

TEB, I hope Lydia will wake up smarter. Could Mr. Bennet be so blessed?

Michelle, Lord Barrymore is like a mysterious man. I hope he's not related to the Frenchies.

I nearly got D&E comfort each other. But all the requests from my lovely readers seem to want to wait. You've it. No breaching the vow before the wedding.

Anyway, it's just 2 more weeks before the ceremony, surely they can wait.

    ReplyDelete
  129. He steeled his nerve as his eyes followed the fall of the gown, the petticoat, the corset and the shift. He kept his focus on the floor, over the pool of lovely white garments, which spread across the pink petals and framed her adorable ankles.

Well...if she keeps this up, he won't be able to wait 2 more minutes!! *big grin* Poor guy!

Wouldn't the hiring of additional help fallen to the housekeeper or the house steward? Doesn't look good for them, does it? And...on who's recommendation were they hired? Oh boy...this just gets better and better. However, if it is extra help...are they still there to see how their plan has gone awry?

I can't wait to find out just who all is really involved and in what capacity. And I still have to ask...who would benefit by Darcy and Elizabeth death? *scratches head*

    More Enid, more!
    Hugs-Sandy

    ReplyDelete
  130. Lord Barrymore is my number one suspect. I think he knows about some conditions in old Mr Darcy's will concerning the marriage between D&E so he is trying to prevent the marriage so he can cash in on Darcy's inheritance. Or maybe there is some long last uncle or cousins who stands to inherit if Darcy dies before marrying and producing an heir so they are all working in cohorts.

I can't believe Darcy just stand there and watch Elizabeth get undress, that must have taken all the self control he could muster. THUMBS UP DARCE!

Waiting on pins and needles for the next installment.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Darcy surprises me too, Sandy and Michelle. He's very sensitive to Elizabeth's state of mind. As for the culprit(s), I wrote about 700 words today. Hope to post once I reach some meaty stage.

    ReplyDelete
  132. ????????? Questions, questions, questions???????

According to Carl, Caroline left Kent and went to Stoke Newington and has been there ever since. And, she had met with Mrs Younge before. But, Caroline seemed to know about the cross before Darcy hired Younge. Big question is...who knew about the Garnet Cross before Younge was hired and would be smart enough to put this whole plan together? Wickham didn't have the intelligence or the money to put this all together.

    1. Lady Susan is married to Lord Barrymore, who is supposedly in Ireland for 'some' months.

    2. Younge worked for distant relatives of Lord Barrymore but didn't want to move away (did she know about the garnet cross at that time and that is why she didn't move...or...did she really 'work for' that person? The Barrymore sisters could be the same ones that were supposed to be her charges)

    3. Caroline is associated with the Barrymore sisters. But...did Caroline already know about the Garnet Cross before she met the Barrymore sisters?

I'm having trouble with the timeline. I can't get it straight in my head. Caroline has been after Darcy for years...yet...it seems that her association with the Barrymore sisters was within recent months...yet...didn't she have the copy made quite a long time ago?

    4. Is Caroline being drugged and that is why she lashed out at Collins and thought he was Darcy? Or...is she just so desperate to get Darcy that she was willing to do anything?

And...Caroline tells them that she had a buggy accident yet Carl says she was in her room. And what about the bruises on her neck and arms?

And...when Charles questions her further...she immediately gets too sick to say any more and needs to be tended to. Well...we all know she is lying, even Darcy, Bingley and Richard know she is lying. Surely if she were on drugs, the doctor would have noticed something about her that would suggest drug addiction.

I could never write mysteries because I would never be able to keep it all straight! Akkkkkk! My poor brain is ready to explode but it is so much fun to think about and speculate on.

Michele...Lord Barrymore begins to be my number one suspect as the mastermind, too...but...just who are all the others involved in this. And...how did Lord Barrymore learn of the Garnet Cross in the first place? Did Wickham snoop around Pemberley and find some information on the Cross and then threaten Barrymore? Is Lady Catherine the one who knew...perhaps from Darcy's mother?

Enid! Help please! We need more!!!!!!

I love this story more and more and I'm sure when the reveal begins, I'm probably going to kick myself because it was in front of me all the time and I just couldn't see it! LOL!

    More please and soon!
    Hugs from West Virginia, USA
    Sandy

    ReplyDelete
  133. Oh oh Sandy, sorry to give you headache. LOL. You asked so many questions that I better check my timeline as well. You know, I've actually put it down in an excel worksheet, with dates no less!

But I did get Carl's name wrong once. And Darcy should have his hand bandaged at one point and I wrote that his fingers were going wild on Lizzy's face etc. I must thank you all for bearing with my mistakes.

Hmm, who is the mastermind? There aren't many possible bad guys in the story. Let me do a head count: Caro, Wickham, Lady C, Mr. Collins, Mrs. Younge, Lord Barrymore, Carl, Marie, the Barrymore sisters, Pierre, Monsieur Artpel, Mr. Fleming, Doctor Smith, Doctor Warwick, Magistrate Robinson. Oh oh, quite a few possibility here.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Oh, I think it's the Wickster, and he's made an accomplice of somebody who has money. I think he is cunning enough - he just doesn't have the money to do it on his own. And I find it very hard to believe anything that comes out of Carolines mouth. She is guilty!
Off with her head! If she wasn't guilty she would not be trying to get to the America's (which I think is a lie) and she did say she was injured in a buggy whereas her driver said her room. Wow it definitely is an entanglement Enid!

    ReplyDelete
  135. "Caro, Wickham, Lady C, Mr. Collins, Mrs. Younge, Lord Barrymore, Carl, Marie, the Barrymore sisters, Pierre, Monsieur Artpel, Mr. Fleming, Doctor Smith, Doctor Warwick, Magistrate Robinson. Oh oh, quite a few possibility here."

    Quite a few indeed!

    ReplyDelete
  136. Oh Dear...with all of these "possibilities" no wonder I have a headache!!! Akkkkkk!

More Enid, More!!! I love it (the story...not the headache!)

    Hugs

    ReplyDelete
  137. WHY OH WHY, ENID!

My brain is in overdrive trying to untangle this web of masterminds. I still pick lord barrymore as the man behind it all he is a member of the family and maybe privy to certain things he learnt by accident or he may have investigated the Darcy family and their fortune that's why he married Lady Susan just to get closer to his target i.e Darcy.

Since i believe Lord Barrymore knew about the garnet cross his sister's or maybe the whole barrymore family knew about it that's why Lord Barrymore recommonded Mrs Younge to be Georgiana companion so that she could off been his spy.

As for Caroline she found out about the cross when she visited the Barrymore sisters and because of her obession with Darcy and her access to him through Bingley they decided to use her as a pawn. If Caroline knew about the cross beforehand she would of used it a long time and not waited to get it made in March and why not take her sister with her instead of Mrs Younge. The common factor between Caroline and Mrs Younge is the Barrymores.

Caroline couldn't fulfill her part so they tried to get rid of her and she is lying because she knows the danger.

Lady Catherine claims she didn't know about Darcy being promised to Elizabeth and she don't believe her sister knew, so except she is lying and i want to believe she is not, she didn't know about the cross.

Thats my take, but i suspect that i am not even close and you will totally suprise us with the least likely person as the main mastermind.

DON"T MAKE US WAIT TO LONG!

    ReplyDelete
  138. Michelle, TEB and Sandy, I hope your find it clearer now as to who was involved. But is it really what is seemed? Could the servants be trusted? Or is the mysterious Lord Barrymore have a hand? Hmmm, still a lot of possibility. But I promise, I haven't changed the plot, since a while ago when I decided who the mastermind would be. Thanks for commeting. You help my muse a lot!

    ReplyDelete
  139. Servants to be trusted?....!!!!!

If they are...then Caroline Bingley is perhaps one of the biggest tramps in England! Of course, I have no doubt of that...however...I'm wondering why, since Marie speaks French, why didn't Darcy ask her about things that were said. She would recognize the words immediately.

At least now we have Wickham's name associted with everything...but...what about Darcy's ring? What did Wickham want it for when he attacked Darcy and took the ring? Must be some connection with the mastermind of this whole plot and the Darcys. Hmmmmm....Lord Barrymore? Lady Catherine? Anne? All of the above?!!!!

Enid...post more soon! You're doing a fantastic job of giving us just enough to keep us coming back for MORE!!!!!!!

Hugs from WV, USA - Sandy

    ReplyDelete
  140. Caroline bowling at both ends thats rich. Mrs Younge could very well be french and a distance relative of the Darcys since the Darcys have french origin. How old is Marie? Can she be Mrs Younge's daughter or maybe her sister. The only innocent one there maybe Carl.

We know that Caroline wants Darcy, Wickham wants to be Darcy or get his hands on Darcy money, Lady Catherine wants Darcy to married Anne, but what is it Mrs younge and the other suspects wants from Darcy.

I still think they are all working for Lord Barrymore. Wickham is a schemer but i dont think he is the mastermind.

Please Enid have pity on my sanity and give us the mastermind.........wouldn't it be a laugh if the mastermind turns out to be hmmmmmmmmm......i give up.

    ReplyDelete
  141. Michelle and Sandy, very interesting speculation! The ring, the French words, Mrs. Younge's daughter and distance relative of Darcy? Hmm, what should I tackle first? I think Darcy is very tired and he will need some comfort time with Lizzy.

    ReplyDelete
  142. let Darcy have his comfort but please......give me the mastermind i need peace of mind.

    ReplyDelete
  143. LOL, Michelle, I thought all readers want very very long story...

    ReplyDelete
  144. Sorry Michelle, no revealing the mastermind(s) yet. But I've been leaving some clues. Sandy, TEB and you are on the right track, mostly. Big hugs from rainy Sydney.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Enid! Oh dear, I did a reread and am finding some very disturbing things.

Georgiana's dream about a woman giving her a present...is this really a dream about being poisoned by Wickham in a Greek temple?

The Greek myth of Médée, tells that she poisoned her rival with a wedding present...and she killed her two children! That is a horrible thought but...I could see the killing of Darcy and/or Elizabeth to seek revenge but who? And revenge for what?

Akkkk! Enid! Has someone drugged Georgiana? Perhaps to test a certain poison? Is this what was used to supposedly kill a rival (Lizzy or Darcy) and Lydia unwittingly got hold of it? And who's rival? Could Lord Barrymore be a long lost D'Arcy wanting to lay claim to the entire Darcy fortune?

Oh my...you can see that my imagination simply runs wild when left on my own!

Enid...we need more and soon before my poor brain explodes!!!

  146. Oh what torture on my poor poor nerves, the suspense is driving me bunkers. Enid I am one of those readers who sometimes read the end of a book before reading the middle, especially if the supsense is too great that i just can't wait to know what happens.

Wickham's role is beginning to take shape and it seems like everything so far is revolving around Caroline, Mrs Younge and Wickham but i am sticking with Lord Barrymore as the kingpin and Caroline wanting to go to Ireland is an indicator that she was going to see him.

I will be sorry for Lady Susan because i really like her.

Pleeeeeeeeease Enid ease the suspense with some more and while you do stay dry.

    am waiting, waiting, waiting!

  147. Big hugs to you, Sandy and Michelle. It's still raining here. I also like to look at the end of a story mid-way through a book too!

Now back to the clues, the opera has some importance but not entirely, yes Caroline, Wickham and Mrs. Younge are all involved but there is only one mastermind.

You won't have to wait too long, I hope, before the mastermind makes the final move. I originally planned it for the wedding night.

But seeing the pain and longing Mr. Darcy has been through, I decided not to spoil his wedding night. I think I will have the truth out earlier.

  148. I was thinking that the Wickster is always too greedy to be too clever, and therefore could not be the mastermind. If he were truly the mastermind I think he would have done more damage while under the Darcy roof.
I am leaning to the French professor that is suppose to be married to Mrs. Young. Mayhap he is Mr. Barrymore, on in the same. But I don't think we have heard enough of Mr. Barrymore for me to think he is the mastermind, besides with daughters about I think they would probably become more involved or be affected somewhat - hmmmm, not sure.
    Great chapter here though.
    Love the mystery entanglement Enid.

  150. Yes! Yes let the truth come out before the wedding, not because i am anxious to know who the mastermind is....lol, but i also want Darcy and Elizabeth to start their marriage on a clean slate with no dark clouds hanging over their lives.

And Darcy has waited long enough for his wedding night, to have it interupted would be pure torture so let their wedding night be about romance and passion and nothing else.

I hope it stop raining soon so you can go out and have a ramble.

  151. Big hugs to you, TEB and Michelle. The truth is finally out. I've almost everything explained. Some of them Sandy and you two have already guessed. The only thing you didn't figured out was the mastermind was right there, at the beginning of the story.
