Is there a topic you can't touch?

I posted a short story with a 24-year-old teacher having a one night stand with her 16-year-old student. The story began with them meeting again after 15 years.

I didn’t detail the one night stand and it was an unintentional act on both sides. Some readers said they couldn’t read on because it’s illegal or it’s unpalatable.

Sometimes my muse just take me to a dark corner.

Dear readers, will you abandon a story if it contains some illegal elements involving the hero and heroine? Dear writers, have your muse led you astray before?

  1. This is tough but I'd have to say, most times, Enid, if the story requires it--then it's fiction and in it goes. Of course, I write mysteries and horror...

  2. Yep, Conda, I agree. It's fiction after all.
