“I danced with you at Netherfield ball.”
“I could see the neighbours’ surprise.”
“Surely you would have thought of my preference then.”
She widened her eyes. “Surely you jest. It was just a dance.”
“Dancing is a compliment which I never pay to any place if I can avoid it.”
