How to deal with a villain?

Last weekend, I tried to write Part 3 of Darcy's Chilling Proposal.

In this short story, I was going to make Mr. Bingley a scoundrel. But in the last minute, I tried to save him and put the blame on another person. But Mr. Bingley turned out to be a spineless puppet. I don't like what I've written. I'm undecided if I should go back to the original plan or continue with this.

Urgh! I want to smack Mr. Bingley's head and ask him to stand up and be a man.

What do you suggest?

  1. No one likes a spineless wimp. Maybe he needs one again?

  2. So Alex said I should help him, Diane said I should smack him. Difficult...
